Twelve-year-old Miley used to have a mother. She doesn't remember much of her. Miley decides to follow in her mother's footsteps. She chooses to audition for Annie without her friend Erica's permission. Miley's sure she'll get the lead. But when Erica steps out of the shadow and redeems her theater remain, her hopes go down. Then Erica is cast as Annie, with Miley as her understudy. Miley treats Erica like a piece of garbage. Then she meets Kristy, another understudy in the play. Will Miley stay mad at Erica forever, or will she have a great realationship with Kristy and Erica?
-Miley: a seventh grader who loves theater like her mom. She has a great voice, but could improve on her dancing. Miley has long, red hair, green eyes, and tons of freckles. Miley's dream is to attend Juliard on a scholarship (because of her family's poor wealth) and earn a degree in singing.
-Erica: a seventh grader that used to love theater, but lost the lead. Erica is confident enough to show up her best friend in a competition for the role of Annie. A typical Erica look is brown french braids, unique purple eyes, and a mall brand shirt with ripped up jeans.
-Ms. Brown: the middle school's drama teacher. Ms. Brown used to star in many local productions, but she wanted to put her education degree to use. Ms. Brown wears dramatic clothing to match her personality. You could spot her from a mile away.
